God has pulled back the curtains of history and shown Christians the truth behind reality. “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever.” Revelation 11:15 Because we have been shown something of the end from the beginning, Isaiah 46:10, Christians are in it for the long haul. As we faithfully raise our families, generation after generation, and proclaim the truth, we see that Christ’s Kingdom will grow just like a tiny mustard seed grows into a great tree. Luke 13:19
God has promised, Know that the Lord your God, he is God, the faithful God, who keeps his Covenant and shows mercy to those who love him and keep his commands, to a thousand generations. Deuteronomy 7:9
The implication should be obvious: the capital base of righteousness will grow to fill the earth over time. The righteous widow’s two mites, Luke 21:2-4, if invested at 1% per annum, over a thousand generations, would be worth more than all the wealth of the earth. Gary North, The Sinai Strategy
As God’s people keep his command to make disciples of all nations, Matthew 28:19-20, and teach their children and their children’s children of the mighty wonders, ways, works, and salvation of God, God’s Kingdom grows larger and deeper. For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. Isaiah 11:9
Or course, Satan is not content to allow God’s Kingdom to grow uninterrupted. His goal is to steal, kill, and destroy. John 10:10 To accomplish these goals he attempts to deceive believers into compromising God’s truth with his lies.
