Ecclesiastes

Trying to Catch the Wind

A Commentary

Cover Art by Connell Patrick Byrne – “Peacock”
Peacocks often were used in ancient Christian art to symbolize the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the gift of eternal life for all Christians.

Because family is the joy of my life, this book is dedicated to my dear wife, Sue and our children, Jen, Ian, Jon, April, Zach and Alex, to their spouses, and to their children, Riley, Amelia, Grant, Lydia, Teddy, Maddox, Jaxen, May, June, July, and to their children’s children, generations yet to come.

I will teach you hidden lessons from our past – stories we have heard and known, stories our ancestors handed down to us. We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord; about His power and His mighty wonders. Psalm 72:2-4

To make this book easily understandable, quotes from the Bible are in Bold.
Quotes from other sources are in italics.

The text of Ecclesiastes is taken from the World English Bible.
Most other Scripture quotes are from the NIV or KJV
