You used to follow the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. -Ephesians 2:2
Christ warned his disciples that Satan had come to the earth to kill, steal, and destroy, John 10:10. And that is just what we have seen in this short study. Those who have pledged allegiance to Lucifer, from Karl Marx, to Saul Alinsky, to Patrissse Cullors have had as their goal the destruction of God’s created order. They begin by denying truth; reality as God designed reality. Having then set themselves up as the final authority they seek to remake the world in their image; a world without justice, equality, Christianity, marriage, family, private property, free speech, binary genders, and much, much, more, overseen by an all powerful government that directs the redistribution of all goods and services. The goal is equity not equality.
Although they intend for these ideas to destroy their enemies, we know that Satan’s lies will also destroy those who practice them. The church today must once again understand the instruction of the Apostle Paul to the First Century Christians:
Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:11-12
And how is Satan and those who follow his lies to be overcome?
By the Gospel, the free gift, of Jesus Christ. Romans 6:23
Now have come Salvation and the Power and the Kingdom of our God, and the Authority of Christ. For the Satan accuser of the believers has been thrown down… They have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony. Because they did not love their lives so as to shy away from death. Revelation 12:10-11
Through our bold and faithful testimony, expressed in both words, as we proclaim the gospel and deeds, as we live our lives as Christ’s servants, demonstrating his love, Christ offers life to all who seek to spoil his creation.
Our task is not to unravel the tangled knot of history. What is our responsibility? The conclusion of the whole matter: fear God, keep His commands: this is the whole duty of man. Ecclesiastes 12:13-14. So you see America teetering on the brink of the Abyss, and you want to know what to do? Love your wife. Respect and obey your husband. Control your temper. Stop drinking so much. Learn to be as precise and as honest in your business dealings as a person can be. Get your kids a Christian education. Bring your family to church, every week bring them to church. Throw yourself into Bible reading. Sing psalms. Laugh at the theocratic pretenses of mortal men. Eat the fat and drink the sweet. Mow your lawn. Have a cold beer afterward. -Douglas Wilson
And to those who continue to follow the lies and deceptions of Lucifer, God, reminding them of their day of accounting, asks:
Who can endure the Day of His coming? Who can stand when He appears? For He will be like a refiner’s fire. Malachi 3:2
Notice the sharp contrast: those who respond to Christ’s call and leave their darkness for the light of Christ, John 3:21, will sing:
Joy to the World
No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessing flow
Far as the curse is found.
