Doxology
24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
25 To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
1. Keep you from falling: The God who called you will keep you.
Romans 8:30 Those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. 31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all —how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died — more than that, who was raised to life — is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
2. Present you faultless:
John 5:24 Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.
3. All Glory, Majesty, Dominion, and Power belong to the only Wise God, our Savior!
Isaiah 9:6 For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
Matthew 22:44, Psalm 110:1 The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, until I put Your enemies under Your feet.”‘
Hebrews 2:8 and placed everything under his feet.” When God subjected all things to him, He left nothing outside of his control. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to him.
4. Both now and forever!
Psalm 121:8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore
Beware, in every age false pastors/shepherds secretly slip into the church. Because they are not concerned with God’s truth Christians are warned not to be fooled by the false teaching. Additionally Christians are commanded to contend for the faith. This is such an important and pressing problem that in order that we may contend for the faith, Jude changed the content of his letter. He had intended to write about salvation, but instead he wrote a letter of warning, explaining to his congregations how to recognize these false teachers, how to understand their motives, and how to support and encourage each other. “God’s ability to keep His people from falling away is a source of profound comfort to believers. However, we must not think we can be passive with respect to our salvation. Though our efforts do not merit God’s favor, His preserving work is demonstrated as we pursue Christ and His Law. Consider today any persistent sin with which you are dealing. Seek accountability with a close friend so you may overcome it, and ask others to pray for you in this matter.” R.C. Sproul
