Job 40:3 Then Job answered Yahweh,
4 “Behold, I am of small account. What will I answer you?
I put my hand on my mouth.
5 I have spoken once, and I will not answer;
Yes, twice, but I will proceed no further.”
Job had no answer. In God’s grand scheme of the vast creation Job realizes he is of small account. v.4 In fact three times he says that he has no answer.
I put my hand on my mouth…
I will not answer…
I will proceed no further.
Job, being a creature of God’s making, is not omnipotent or omniscient. Job realizes that he is limited in his power and understanding. He puts his hand over his mouth and refuses to answer.
