Psalm 1

Psalm 1 (NIV)

Blessed, many times over, is the one

who does not walk in step with the wicked

or stand in the way that sinners take

or sit in the company of mockers,

Do you want:  1. a meaningful life?   2. to be blessed by your Creator?   Or do you try to get close to sin without crossing the line?

After all it is enticing and no one wants to be mocked or ridiculed!

but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,

and who meditates on his law day and night.

Rethink that attitude … What do you delight in?

What do you fantasize about?

That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,

which yields its fruit in season

and whose leaf does not wither—

whatever they do prospers.

God gives you 2 steps …

1 – Do not follow along with mockers.

2 – Do seek God’s truth.

The Result?

You will be fruitful & your source of strength will be the Creator Himself!

Not so the wicked!

They are like chaff that the wind blows away.

And the final fate of those who Mock God?

They will have no security. They will be blown away.

Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,

nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

Unbelievers live as if there is no God and therefore, no final judgement.

But, not so. They may mock now but will not stand in the judgement.

For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,

but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

In contrast, God will watch over all who delight in Him.
